#TarotTuesday – Strength

Welcome back to another TAROT TUESDAY card reading!

If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a message to someone in need.

Today’s card is all about me. But, I have a sneaky feeling it will be about you too, in some way or another. That’s just the way the Universe works!

The card I pulled is from the Major Arcana.

The Major Arcana Tarot cards represent the life lessons, karmic influences and the big archetypal themes that are influencing your life and your soul’s journey to enlightenment.

Let’s take a look at the Strength card!

In the Strength Tarot card, a woman gently strokes a lion on its forehead and jaw. Even though it is known for its ferociousness, the woman has tamed this wild beast with her calming, loving energy. The lion is a symbol of raw passions and desires, and in taming him, the woman shows that animal instinct and raw passion can be expressed in positive ways when inner strength and resilience are applied. She doesn’t use force or coercion; she channels her inner strength to subdue and subtly control the lion.

The Strength card represents strength, determination, and power. It speaks to the inner strength and the human spirit’s ability to overcome any obstacle. Strength is about knowing you can endure life’s obstacles. You have great stamina and persistence, balanced with underlying patience and inner calm. You are committed to what you need to do, and you go about it in a way that shows your composure and maturity.

Your strength gives you the confidence to overcome any growing fears, challenges or doubts. Feel the fear and do it anyway! If you have been going through a rough time and are burnt out or stressed, the Strength card encourages you to find the power within yourself to persevere. You have got what it takes to see this situation through to its eventual end.

The Strength card urges you to ‘tame’ your animal instincts, gut reactions, and raw emotions, and channel these initial responses constructively. It’s normal for feelings such as anger, rage, sadness, guilt or shame to arise in certain situations. However, it’s what you do with these emotions that makes all the difference. Now is a time when you need to be conscious of your instinctual urges and bring them into balance with the greater good. This is no time to act out in rage or hatred. Approach your situation from a place of forgiveness, love and compassion. Working with a therapist may also help you create coping strategies for what comes up.

Well, give me your thoughts. Can you relate to this card in your own life, or was it just for me?

Thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!

As always, I use the Rider-Waite Radiance deck and BiddyTarot.com for interpretations.

  1. I’m so glad to see that you were up to writing a post this week, Jan. I’ve always thought the Strength card was wonderful — and felt encouraged any time I drew it.
Now, I have the oddest craving for tacos… 😉 Hugs on the wing!

  2. “Approach your situation from a place of forgiveness, love and compassion.” There is so much strength in that instruction, Jan, as opposed to anger and blame, which just makes situations worse. This is something that I need to remember in today’s political world. Great share. 🙂

  3. For sure, Erika! This card inspires us to find our inner strength and rely on it to get through life’s obstacles in a beauty way! Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment! Hugs!

  4. Hi, Jan! I read about your fall. I’m so sorry. I hope you’re in much less pain today. I know this type of injury takes a while to heal but still, I wish you a speedy recovery. I think this card is all about me too! I’ve had to overcome so much in the past few years, from the death of my father which I was very close to, to being diagnosed with cancer. Had you told me 10 years earlier that these things would happen to me, I would have told you that I wouldn’t have the strength to endure it, but I did. My inner strength surprised me and now I feel I can overcome any challenge. This is a great card! I’m a Leo, so I believe the lion represents me and the woman my inner strength and guardian angel. The infinity symbol above her head means she’ll always be there for me. Feel better soon, my friend. ❤

    1. Oh, Vashti, you are SO right! If you had known all that you would face in life a few years ago, it would have been overwhelming. But, I believe we can draw on our inner strength to overcome whatever obstacles life throws our way and that’s so much what the card says to us. It is a great card. I also related the Lion to Leo (which is also my sun sign) and the woman can definitely signify your inner strength and personal guardian Angel. Yes! She will always be there for you. Hugs, sweet friend! Healing is going to be a slow process, but each day is a little better. Thank you for stopping by!

  7. Jan- Wow this Card is perfect for me. I needed to hear this:
I have a huge day ahead of me.
I have a complaint in Hugoton of 30-40 dead cattle piled on a property, 2 inspections in Syracuse, and then take water samples to Garden City so a co-worker can take them to Dodge City to be Fed Ex to Topeka.
So I needed this card to see that I’ll channel any frustrations or anxiety into a positive outcome. You bring me energy Jan.
You are still in my prayers and I’m praying you heal fast and get back on your feet stronger than before.
Love & Hugs my sweet Friend.
