#TarotTuesday – Two of Wands

Welcome to another Tarot Tuesday!

If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a universal message.

I created a short video to demonstrate how I pull the card for the posts. If you’re interested, here’s a LINK.

Today’s card is the Two of Wands.

The keywords for Two of Wands are: Future planning, progress, decisions, and discovery.

In the Tarot deck, the card before the Two of Wands is the Ace of Wands, which is all about a new idea or new beginning. With the Two of Wands, you are exploring your options and carefully plotting out the path ahead, accounting for all possibilities and potential challenges. You are open to growth and exploring new territories, so long as you maintain a level of certainty that your efforts will work out in the end.

When the Two of Wands appears in a Tarot reading, you are not ready to make your move – it is more important that you establish a clear plan before proceeding. The Two of Wands is also about discovery, particularly as you step outside your comfort zone and explore new worlds and experiences. It may take courage to set out, but this card gives you the confidence of self-knowledge. You know what your goal is and are sure of its eventual fulfillment. Let your intuition and passion guide you as you confirm your next steps.

The Two of Wands indicates that you are considering your longer-term goals and aspirations and are ready to plan for what you need to do to achieve them. You have already come so far, and now you feel ready for a change – this time with your long-term future in mind. With careful planning and a moderated approach, you will set yourself up for success.

The Twos in Tarot often represent decisions of some sort. With this two, you may make a choice between sticking with what you know or taking a risk. You understand the world has something bigger or more meaningful to offer you, yet you also realize that you must leave your familiar grounds to capitalize on this opportunity. Even though you already invested a lot into your current circumstances, it is imperative that you step out and explore your options.

This card spoke to me in a couple of different ways. As we begin the reopening of businesses and lessen the restriction we’ve all adhered to due to COVID-19, I think it is super important to be careful and make our decisions based on, as our card last week suggested, feeling rather than thinking. The other way this card spoke to me was from the author standpoint – of making long term goals before embarking on a new project. What about you? Does this card resonate with you in any way?

Thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!

As always, I use the Rider-Waite Radiance deck and BiddyTarot.com for interpretations.

  1. This card spoke to me too, Jan. While waiting for my manuscript to come back from my editor I’ve started the first draft for a crime thriller (my 1st crime thriller). I’ve also been writing down short and long term goals for my writing career. Great reading! ❤ xo

  2. Another very pertinent card, Jan. My husband and I were on the cusp of retiring and traveling. Ooops. Guess those plans aren’t going to happen anytime soon. Everything is different in the world, for a while at least. A good time for taking stock and careful planning. You’re hitting the mark with these. 🙂

  3. The step before the big step. That’s an interesting card and message. First I thought, this one does not speak to me but the further I got reading the more it became obvious that it does totally!

    1. Sometimes at first glance at a card, I feel the same way, Erika. But then when I get down to the nitty-gritty of it, I find it most certainly has a message for me. I’m glad you got something from it! Thanks for stopping by!

  4. The very first thing that caught my eye was the world he was holding in his hand. I am rethinking how I’m going to go forward. Looking at pictures from last year I look exhausted. This downtime was good for reflection and moving forward making the necessary changes. Thanks, Jan:)

    1. I love your observation, Denise. I noticed that as well and then he’s just pondering where to go next. I’m glad you got the downtime you needed. When we are in the middle of “life” we often can’t see what we need until the Universe stops us in our tracks. Here’s to moving forward and following our intuitions! Take care, and thank you for stopping by!

  5. Very interesting, Jan. I don’t exactly know how this card pertains to me yet, but for you it’s spot on. WOW! But for me, writing wise, I’m already two books in a new series and the only decisions are in working through this plot. On a personal note, I’m so ready to get back to life. I need a haircut, I need color, I need to see friends, go the movies! I pray that as we do this, we don’t get another wave. That would just about kill all of us. Love you, Sister!

    1. I think as we re-enter society, we will all be more cautious and self-aware than ever before. This has taught us some important lessons that we won’t soon forget. Whatever you do, stay safe and well! I love you!

  6. I thought the card very timely. As I go about long term planning (At my age the time horizon for the long term is just beyond the hood ornament) I’m amazed as to how the right card shows up at the right time. Yes, the choices are either comfort zone or risk. Very apropos, Jan. Thank you.

    1. Lol, John. I agree about how far the long-term planning is for us as we get older. 🙂 I too, am amazed that the right card turns up at the right time for all of us. It’s a great example of the Universe at work! Stay safe and well, whatever you decide to do!

  7. This card is perfect for right now. Not only am I exploring writing a short story for the first time, I am also looking ahead to my next book project down the road. On the home front, I just finished installing hurricane impact windows and am exploring my next home project (once I save up more money). Decisions, decisions! Lol!
