#SundaySpotlight – Amelia Presley – Harm Nobody Else – Part 2 @amelia_presley

Last week, we met an amazing resilient artist, Amelia Presley, and learned a little about her story of child abuse. This week, she is going a little deeper and sharing more that I am confident you will find compelling. Thank you for all the comments and shares last week! My followers are the BEST!

I’ll turn it back over to Amelia.

It was very difficult to start talking about “Harm Nobody Else.” I felt that as an adult, I learned to overcome so much. I made it through abusive relationships and decided not to put up with that type of treatment anymore. I joined the military and overcame sexual harassment and abuse. I became a very tough person on the outside.

The Commanding Officer at my first unit referred to me as “stoic.” I gained a reputation of being someone who could take anything thrown my way. I was thought of as strong, and believed that I finally was. The truth is that I had just learned to take any type of abuse and bury it under a tough exterior.

When I told my story publicly, it felt like a huge weight was lifted and was replaced by the weight of pulling that truth into myself. I fell into a very deep depression, but for once, I expected it. I prepared myself to have thoughts of suicide and I did. But since I was prepared to have those thoughts, I was able to get through them. I learned a pretty life-changing lesson through that. I remember lying in bed feeling as if I wanted to disappear. I had no need to reach out for help. I didn’t want help. I wanted to die. Then I remembered to just push through. I told myself to just wait and the thoughts would pass. Sure enough, it wasn’t long until they were gone. Then came the revelation moment. Thoughts of suicide are intrusive. They happen when your mind is not firing on all cylinders. Thinking of all you have to live for during that time does not help, because your mind is not well. Thinking of all you have to live for only makes sense to a mind that is thinking logically. People who suffer from depression should prepare themselves to expect those thoughts to come, but to just remember to wait. Wait and wait until those thoughts pass.

I decided to record a music video for “Harm Nobody Else” by myself in the home where the abuse took place. My three-year-old daughter played me in the video. The decision to cast my daughter came from a very heavy moment in the studio while I was recording the song. That entire day was magic. The people who where with me in the studio were so supportive, cheering me on through the process. Toward the end of the day, I finally broke down. I was recording one last run on the vocals when I started to visualize what the music video would entail. I started to see the words I was singing play out, and I saw my story from start to finish with me as a three-year-old child. My daughter is the same age as I was when the abuse began and I suddenly saw her face replacing mine. Then I broke and stopped singing. I started to cry and couldn’t gather my composure. I couldn’t bear the thought of anyone harming her. She’s so little. I decided soon after that, I had to have her play me as a child in the music video.

I needed the video to be painful because without that, it wouldn’t be real. It’s so easy to go about life and block the injustices of the world out of your mind. That’s a big reason why abuse remains a secret. A “Behind The Scenes” portion was added to the end of the video to show that my daughter was actually having fun when we recorded the scenes. I’m extremely proud of her for taking directions so well, and showing the emotions I was asking her to show. She won’t know how big of a part she played until she is much older. Her performance will change people’s lives.

Facing your own truth is the hardest thing you’ll ever do in life. But it is also the most liberating thing you’ll ever do.

I am dedicated to documenting my healing process in sequence, so that others may feel empowered to do the same. I am dedicated to showing every unpolished truth about the process. That includes insecurities, “mess-ups” on stage, such as my performance on The Country Network when I choked from the nerves of knowing I was about to tell my story before playing “Harm Nobody Else.” It includes being honest about depression and anxiety. It includes being honest about thoughts of suicide.

I want anyone who’s been through any type of abuse to know this: You didn’t ask for the cards you were dealt. It’s time to pass the back to the dealer.

Your abuser will more than likely never accept the blame, but that does not mean that you have to hold onto it. The blame is NOT yours! The shame is NOT yours.

THIS IS NOT YOUR SECRET!

#TarotTuesday – Seven of Cups

Welcome to another Tarot Tuesday!

If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a universal message.

I created a short video to demonstrate how I pull the card for the posts. If you’re interested, here’s a LINK.

Today’s card is the SEVEN OF CUPS

The keywords for the Seven of Cups are: Opportunities, choices, wishful thinking, and illusion.

In the Seven of Cups, a man stands before seven cups filled with various gifts. Some cups bear desirable gifts such as jewels and a wreath of victory. But others hold gifts that are not gifts at all; instead, they are curses, such as the snake or dragon. The clouds and the cups symbolize the man’s wishes and dreams, and the different gifts inside suggest that you need to be careful what you wish for as not everything is as it seems. Choices need to be made, but in doing so, you must go beyond illusion and allure, and instead focus on what’s right for you.

The Seven of Cups is a card of new opportunities, choices, and at times, illusion. You have many options and opportunities from which you can choose. But be careful to avoid illusion and unrealistic ideals. An opportunity with promises of more money, more fame, or more power may sound appealing, but as you look deeper into what is on offer, you may realize it’s not everything it’s cracked up to be. Evaluate your options and dig below the surface to discover what’s involved with each choice.

Often, the Seven of Cups can be a sign of wishful thinking and projecting into the future about what you would like to create, rather than taking action here in the present to make it happen. For example, you may wish for a fitter, more healthy body, until it’s time to get out there and exercise. Or you might wish for a successful business fueled by passive income, but you’re not ready and willing to put in the hard work now to enjoy the fruits of your labor later. If you spend most of your time wishing but not doing the work, then it’s time to choose just one thing and make it happen.

You may find that your ideas are not grounded in reality. Your plans might sound fabulous in your imagination, but when it comes to implementing them, you may realize they do not work in the real world.

The Seven of Cups may be a sign of ‘shiny object syndrome’, where you keep finding the ‘next big thing’ but fail to see any of those new opportunities through to the end. When you are constantly in the idea phase, you miss the chance to bring your designs into fruition. Again, now is a time to focus on the one thing that will move you closer to your goal; resist the temptation to get side-tracked with other ideas as they arise. If need be, note your ideas as they come up, but stay focused on the one thing you’re doing.

This card is inviting you to move out of the ideas and options phase and choose. Each will have its pros and cons – it’s up to you to make sure that the option you select is in alignment with your purpose and your Highest Good – even if you feel somewhat paralyzed by the options available to you.

This card carries such deep wisdom that can apply to many situations, circumstances and opportunities in life. For me, the message is to stay grounded and on task. Getting sidetracked can lead to procrastination, which can lead to abandonment of a dream or project. So, we must stay focused! What say you?

As always, thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!

#SundaySpotlight – Amelia Presley – Harm Nobody Else – Part 1 @amelia_presley

Hey, you guys! Thank you for joining in on another Sunday Spotlight where we will learn more about an inspiring music artist. Not only is Amelia a distant cousin to The King, Elvis, but she has a chilling story to tell, with raw emotion expressed through her soulful voice. Because her story is so big and universal, she will be back again next Sunday with a wrap-up.

It is my great pleasure to turn my blog over to Amelia today, and I hope you enjoy her story and her music!

Hi, everyone, and thank you for taking an interest in my story and my music. The story starts with an adoption. The photo above is of me and my birth mother. I won’t get into the reasons for the adoption here. That’s another story for another time.

The truth is that my adopted mother was an abuser. She abused me mentally and physically from the time I came to live with her through my teenage years. The scars her abuse left are still healing, but at last I’ve finally found a healthy way to work through the mountain of emotions and psychological turmoil. Music has always been my refuge from the storms.

When I wrote “Harm Nobody Else,” I wasn’t at a place in my life where I was able to actually connect with the emotions of the abuse. I wrote the song in July 2018. I was alone in my house that weekend, getting ready for some Highway Sisters tour dates.

That’s when flashbacks of memories I’d rather forget tend to rear their ugly heads – when I’m alone.

I remember I rushed to find paper, pen and guitar so I could get the song down. The first few lyrics played in my head – “I see you walkin’ I hear you talkin…” Then the song just flowed out of my soul and it was done in thirty minutes or less. After I wrote it and recorded it as a voice memo on my phone, I just left it. I didn’t even think about it that much afterward, because I was so used to disassociating from that part of myself.

I performed the song live for the first time at the Mississippi Songwriters Festival. My abuser, the woman who legally adopted me, was in the audience with her new husband, showing the world how seemingly supportive she was. Before playing the song, I explained to the crowd that I wrote it to spread awareness against abuse. I didn’t reveal that it was my personal story. I couldn’t look her in the eyes as I explained the false truth of why I wrote “Harm Nobody Else,” but at a certain point in the song, I looked her straight in the eyes and sang the words. I was terrified and angry as I sang them to her, as if no one else was in the room. She squirmed and left shortly after I finished playing. I never played the song again until the end of this past year.

My abuser cut me out of her life, out of the blue, after she’d sent a text that said, “I love you. Happy Birthday!” My entire adult life, she had seemingly changed. I even let myself get close to her and had what I thought was a good relationship with her until that point, which was one of the reasons I had decided not to expose my story. I wanted to protect her. I started a podcast called “The Insignificant Diary of a Burden Named Phoenix,” where I told my story, but changed the names. I was doing everything I could to find some healing for myself without having to hurt her in the process.

So, when the stark realization hit me that she had not changed and that I had been manipulated to believe she had changed came as a huge blow. She blocked me on Facebook. What mother does that? I couldn’t stay quiet and sent a blistering text, to which she responded in her typical way. She turned it all back around on me and basically told me to butt out and stay out of her life.

I immediately felt a rush of emotions, anger, sadness, defeat and betrayal. I can’t explain it any better than to say I was in shock. I wanted everyone to know the truth. No holds barred anymore. I posted screenshots of her texts on Faceook. I knew it was the quickest way to reveal her secret. I did it out of anger. Then after I posted it, I sunk to the floor, physically and emotional exhausted.

So many emotions I’d kept hidden from myself suddenly slammed me in the face. It was as if I was in someone else’s body.

A month later in December 2019, performing at a benefit for a Texas band who had lost their bus to a fire, I told my story on stage for the first time. The room fell silent as I spoke. I pushed through talking, on the brink of tears. When I finished playing the song, I hung my head. I felt small and vulnerable. But the applause that followed gave me validation. From that point forward I’ve taken every opportunity to tell the truth about the song before I play it because I feel it’s important. There is always someone who needs to hear it.

I don’t ever want anyone to see me hiding the truth again.

Birthday Reflections – August 21st

Today, August 21st, I turn 69 years young. Wow! That’s just almost unfathomable.

Yes, something like that. 🙂

I don’t have to tell you it’s been a crazy year because we already know that’s a fact. But there has been a mixed bag of blessings as well.

Most of you already know that I landed a publishing contract with The Wild Rose Press for a new series. My #TarotTuesday blog has taken off and gets a lot of visitors, which makes me very happy. The messages that come through the cards are always spot-on and almost everyone can find some aspect of the card that fits into their lives.

I am starting to get some traction with the #SundaySpotlight and will be featuring a monthly post from different music artists. The music industry has been hard-hit by COVID-19. With the bars closed, they have nowhere to play their music. It’s a struggle.

I’ve released two new short stories. They have both been well-received and I am super grateful for all the reviews that have flowed in!

I’ve started a newsletter. If you did not receive one from me in the last few days, and would like to, please list your email address in your comment to this post and I’ll add you to my mailing list. I intend to send one newsletter per month, so I will not bombard your inbox.

Let’s see. What else?

I’m super thankful for my health. This time last year I was in severe pain with fractured ribs. It has taken a good nine months to recover, but I’m back to being me.

Since virtual school started, I spend 7 hours per day helping grandkids with online learning. It’s not easy for them or for me, but we are muddling through.

In between school, I am going through the editing process for “Ghostly Interference,” the first book in The White Rune Series to be published by The Wild Rose Press. I can’t wait for a cover reveal! Hopefully soon!

What does the next year look like? I have no earthly idea! All I know is that we’ll all get through the best way we can!

So, here’s to 69! For all you youngsters out there, I can tell you it isn’t bad!

#TarotTuesday – Judgement

Welcome to another Tarot Tuesday!

If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a universal message.

I created a short video to demonstrate how I pull the card for the posts. If you’re interested, here’s a LINK.

Today’s card is from the Major Arcana – JUDGEMENT.

The keywords to this card are: Judgement, rebirth, inner calling, and absolution.

The Judgement card is calling you to rise up and embrace a higher level of consciousness for the service of your Highest Good. You are experiencing a spiritual awakening and realizing that you are destined for so much more. This is your cosmic up-levelling! You hear the call and are ready to act. Tune in to a higher frequency. Let go of your old self and step into this newest version of who you really are.

The Judgement card often indicates that you need to make a life-changing decision, but unlike those associated with the logical Justice card, this decision requires a blend of intuition and intellect. You may be at a crossroads, aware that any choice you make will bring a significant change with long-lasting effects. Tune in to your Higher Self, trust your judgement and know you are on the right path.

Judgement pops up in a Tarot reading when you are close to reaching a significant stage in your journey. You have reviewed and evaluated your past experiences and have learned from them. All the pieces of the puzzle of your life are finally coming together to form one unified picture of your life’s story. This integration has healed deep wounds, and you are now able to put the past behind you. You have found your absolution, having cleared any wrongdoings or regrets, and releasing any guilt or sadness about the past. This purging process will leave you refreshed and ready to take on any new challenges.

The Judgement card suggests that you may find comfort in sharing your struggles with others within a group environment. There will be others who have experienced something similar and who can show you the way to freedom from your troubles. Let them guide you and help you – rise together.

Wow, folks, this is a powerful card. Being from the Major Arcana, it applies to life lessons, karmic influences, and big archetypal themes that are influencing your life and your soul’s journey. We are being called upon to step into a better version of ourselves and resonate at a higher level of consciousness. It’s interesting to me that it talks about sharing struggles within a group environment. You know we can do that here. But I also registered for a Summer Psychic two-day school just the other day and for me on a personal level, that is exactly what this card is indicating. In this time of chaos all over the globe, a higher state of consciousness will help with healing. And we do that one at a time, as individuals, with the overarching effect on humanity as a whole. Share your thoughts, please!

As always, thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!

August 17, 1985 – Home At Last

August 17th is a day I celebrate each year! It was such a HUGE day in my life, or start of my life with Rick Sikes.

Although we’d met and fallen in love in 1970, it wasn’t until 1985 that we were able to begin a life together. As Rick used to say, “Courtesy of Uncle Sam.” 🙂

On August 17, 1985, Rick stepped off a Greyhound bus and into our new life together. We’d waited a long fifteen years for that day.

I want to share a very short excerpt from “Home At Last,” as it says it better than anything else I can come up with.

Here’s a picture from that time and yes, it’s a real picture of us both.

Excerpt – Chapter 2 – Home At Last

The air brakes brought the lumbering bus to a stop and the door flew open. Luke stood and gathered his meager belongings, consisting of a cheap cardboard case with a change of underwear, one change of clothes, a comb, toothbrush and the shaving razor he’d been issued when he left prison. In his pocket, he carried his parole papers, which he’d glanced at often since leaving Kansas.

When he spotted Darlina at the entrance of bus station, he swallowed hard.

He maneuvered his lanky frame to the front of the bus and stepped off. He dropped his case and wrapped his arms tightly around her when she ran forward. They stood quietly, barely breathing.

His chest tightened when big tears welled up in her blue eyes. He hated to see her cry, even if they were tears of joy.

“Oh Luke. You’re finally home,” her voice quivered.

He cleared his throat. “It’s damned time too. Let’s get out of here. All of these people make me a little more than nervous.” Luke picked up his small case.

“Sorry, the air conditioner in the car doesn’t work. It’s damned hot,” she chattered nervously.

Luke nestled his free hand in hers and let her guide him to the maroon Chevy.

“Honey, it wouldn’t matter to me if you had to pick me up with a wagon and team of mules. God, it’s good to be back in Texas. All the way here, I kept thinking to myself, ‘Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore’.”

Standing beside the car, Luke threw his case into the backseat and pulled Darlina into his arms. He kissed her waiting lips and slid his hands slowly down her back, savoring the feel of her beneath his trembling hands.

Darlina let out a long sigh. “I’ve waited so long for you to hold me, baby. I thought today would never get here.”

Luke struggled to steady his voice. “Not nearly as long I have, sweetheart. Let’s go home.

***

And so they did.

To celebrate, I’ve lowered the price of “Home At Last” in the Kindle store to 99 cents for three days! If you haven’t grabbed a copy, this is a great time to do so!

And if you read it and are so inclined to, please leave a review so that other potential readers will see your thoughts about it!

My Author Booth – 2020 WC&BE #RRBC

This has been such an incredible week attending the RAVE REVIEWS BOOK CLUB 2020 Writers’ Conference and Book Expo. The way it is presented this year, truly FEELS like a physical conference. Of course, it’s all virtual, which is beautiful in and of itself. I can go on with daily responsibilities and still participate fully in educational informative workshops, play Bingo, guess the answers on the Fact or Fiction game, and go on a scavenger hunt! We even have a chat lounge this year where we can gather and share our thoughts with other authors over a glass of wine or cup of coffee.

But, one of the highlights of the conference are the many author booths.

The author booths are open to the public.

I’d be thrilled if you’d stop by my booth and take a look at the books, book trailers and everything else it has!

Please do me a favor, if you visit, and tweet it out or share it to Facebook!

Of course, you’re welcome to leave a comment! So, what are you waiting for? Head on over!

Interludes 2 – New Release – Harmony Kent @harmony_Kent

I am super thrilled to share my blog site today with Author, Harmony Kent, so she can tell you about her new collection of erotic short stories and the prompts she used to write them!

Thanks so much for having me over at your place today, Jan.

Hi everyone. It’s great to be visiting with you all.

While I’m here, I’d like to talk about my latest book, Interludes 2. This is a book of short erotic romance fiction. As with the original Interludes (which you can find HERE), the book contains 10 short stories, with the first tale totalling 1,000 words, the second one totalling 2,000, and so on up to 10,000 words in the final story.

For each story, I used prompt cards from a great creative tool called Storymatic.  Here’s what the set gave me to work with:

  1. teller of secrets, b) extremely hairy person (secondary) … c) nudist … (MC) conflict = hiding spot is discovered

A and B should relate to the main character and C to the secondary character. … But I cheated a little and switched things around, te he hee. So, the hairy teller of secrets became the secondary character. And the nudist became the main character. The final prompt gives us the conflict.

From the above set of prompts, I came up with NUDIST CAMP—contemporary romance in 5000 words.

An older woman. A younger man. A gossip discovers their secret tryst. What will happen when it all gets laid bare?

Excerpt from Nudist Camp:

Stupid should be her middle name.

So, of course, when her brother-in-law’s brother’s son came across her, she was sitting in the dirt and wiping muck and blood from her sole.

Even after all this time, she couldn’t quite get used to seeing Jordan in the buff. She remembered the scrawny little kid he used to be, and his manly appearance now unnerved her. For all the wrong reasons. He was her nephew-in-law—okay, so not directly, but still. He was a cousin to her nephew and niece. She had to get a grip on herself. Better yet, a grip on him. Stop. Behave yourself. Grip him and scream out loud with her legs wrapped around his waist, and him pumping into her. It ought to be illegal, having abs like those. And, oh, his pecks. She prayed he couldn’t see the sudden spurt of wetness that coated her … or smell her arousal for that matter.

It seemed to her that he spent far too long standing and staring before he strode up to her and crouched at her side. Between his thighs, his sacks and tackle hung low and swung deliciously. It took every ounce of her self control not to reach over and cup him in her hands. Oh, good God. How depraved?

Then Jordan went and spoilt the whole thing, ‘Aunt Chloe? Are you okay?’

Aunt. Right.

Weak with want, and more than a little guilty, she waggled her foot in front of his face to display her wound, and then remembered her naked state. She lowered her limb in a hurry and closed her legs while blushing furiously. Could this day get any worse? No, surely it had to go up from here? Unless she started digging. Chloe was good at digging. The skill matched her size-ten feet that always seemed to put themselves in it—whatever ‘it’ might be. Had she, seriously, just opened her legs and shown this boy/man her crack? Oh, yeah, babe … you bet your cookie you did.

I had so much fun writing this one, and I hope you’ve enjoyed this little teaser. I’d love to hear what you think via the comments at the bottom of the page. Thanks for stopping by.

New Release! HMS Lanternfish – C.S. Boyack @virgilante

I am super excited to share a new release with you from C.S. Boyack. In fact, I’ve been anxiously awaiting the second book in the Lanternfish Series because I loved book 1 SO much!

At any rate, I’m turning my blog over to Craig so he can tell you about his new book! By the way, don’t you just love this cover? I do!

Hi, Jan. Thanks for having me back here to talk about my newest book. This is my first attempt at a classic trilogy, and we’re dealing with book two here. It’s called HMS Lanternfish.

In the original book, Voyage of the Lanternfish, James started off making plans for the future with the woman he loves. The ruling power of his country mistook him for his father who was a notorious undercover operative. They kidnapped his lady friend and forced him to start a war if he wanted to save her.

Plans didn’t work out the way the rulers expected. James was a merchant sailor, so he commandeered a ship and took to piracy against his home country. That’s a nutshell version of the first book, but there’s a lot more to it.

HMS Lanternfish opens with their home continent at war from coast to coast. Odds are slim and chances are few, but Lanternfish is still one of the largest warships on the sea. Using a semi-official charter as a royal privateer, James and crew take Lanternfish to war.

Nothing is ever that simple, and they get blown off course. Since this is a fantasy tale, it allowed me to explore some exotic lands and that was part of the charm of the original tale. With war a long ways off, Lanternfish takes to actually being a privateer. They have two goals, acquire goods that might help with the war effort, and discover the secrets of the Fulminites, a religious order that seems to be made up of suicide bombers controlling the land battles in favor of their enemies. Of course, they have to make it back in time to make a difference.

HMS Lanternfish is filled with fantasy creatures, exotic lands and peoples, and a bit of humor fans of the first book enjoyed.

I’m running a special right now. HMS Lanternfish is temporarily priced at 99¢ in an attempt to get it off to a good start. From August 10 through August 14th, Voyage of the Lanternfish will be free. I’ll drop a cover and blurb if you’d like to join this crew.

***

Blurb: The Lanternfish crew completed their original mission, but got exposed to a more global problem. An entire continent is at war, headed up by a head-strong young king with dreams of power, and pushed from behind by a mysterious religious order known as the Fulminites.

Rather than let their country fall under the iron boot of conquest, James and his crew set sail once more to see what kind of muscle Lanternfish can lend to the war effort. Acting precariously under an unofficial charter as a privateer, even his allies aren’t always his friends.

HMS Lanternfish explores new worlds on its way to war, and drifts considerably off course. It features an international crew of characters, and for fans of the first book, the root monsters are back, too. Tall ships, a few con games, martial arts, and everything you loved about the original book is all returning.

Hoist the colors and wheel out the guns. Lanternfish is taking to the high seas once more.

#TarotTuesday – Ace of Cups

Welcome to another Tarot Tuesday!

If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a universal message.

I created a short video to demonstrate how I pull the card for the posts. If you’re interested, here’s a LINK.

Today’s card is the ACE OF CUPS.

The keywords for the Ace of Cups are: Love, new relationships, compassion, and creativity.

The Ace of Cups shows a chalice overflowing with five streams of water. The cup represents the vessel of your subconscious mind; the five streams are your five senses and the abundant emotion and intuition flowing from within you.

With the Ace of Cups, Divine love and compassion are pouring through you. You are a vessel for deep, spiritual love from the Universe, and you can’t help but let that love flow through you and into the world. You receive love, you give love, you ARE love. Your heart overflows. Don’t you just love that?

Now is the perfect time for you to open your heart and experience the rich flow of emotion available to you right now. You are more receptive to creative opportunities, loving connections, and deep compassion for other living beings. As with all Aces in the Tarot, this card comes as an invitation. Will you take it? Will you say “Yes!” to Divine love and compassion, and will you run with it? The Ace of Cups carries the potential for spiritual and emotional fulfilment – but only if you embrace it with an open heart.

This card often appears in Tarot readings when you are open to creative expression, especially when you can allow your emotions to shine through your endeavors. You may be inspired to start a new project. At this point in your life, you are comfortable with who you are and happily express this part of yourself to others. You see fresh potential in allowing your creative juices to flow. Let your imagination and talent unfurl to new possibilities.

The Ace of Cups often represents a new relationship, be it a friendship, a new family connection or blossoming romance. It is exciting – fluttery even – and you are so glad to have met someone with whom you can share a special connection. Give yourself permission to open yourself to giving and receiving unconditional love, and you will notice that affection flows effortlessly when you are in this loving state of mind. The water in the card reflects the flow of emotion, and thus, the Ace of Cups suggests that the enthusiasm you two generate will get you fired up about yourself and life.

There is a generous, compassionate side to the Ace of Cups, too. See this as a time of giving (not taking) and make the most of any opportunity to help others. You have the power to share your inner radiance and positive energy, bringing great happiness to those around you. And you will find that the more you give, the more you receive on multiple levels.

I love that this card indicates a time of giving, not taking! I am happiest when I am giving to others. What a positive uplifting message in the midst of chaos! I don’t know about you, but I’ll take it, embrace it, and run with it! I’d love to hear from you and how this card relates to you personally!

As always, thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!
