Good morning. I got home late yesterday and feeling very jetlagged, but did want to make a post today. Hope it brings some inspiration!

I pulled only one card for this post. But isn’t she lovely?
While I can’t say this card resonates with me on a personal level, I am hopeful it will be for someone out there. The Nine of Pentacles symbolizes a time of enjoyment and feeling safe. You’ve worked hard to get to where you are, and now you are invited to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Financial security is yours, so relax and luxuriate in your prosperity. You are also invited to share your abundance with others. If you’ve been overworking, you are encouraged to take a break and recharge. This card may indicate a vacation.
MY TAKEAWAY:
As I said, I don’t feel this card is for me. It doesn’t fit my life situation at all, BUT what if?? What if this week does bring some abundance? What if I do get to drop the scarcity mindset and enjoy some fruits of my hard labor? I can assure you I am open to receive! Let’s all agree to that, and have a great week ahead!

I’m currently reading the memoir of a woman who lived on a Navajo reservation for two years in the early 1970s. She later spent two years in South America with the Peace Corps working with Quechua-Speaking Indians. She learned from these groups of people a simple way of life. In regards to the Quechua’s, she said this. “I’ve learned that feeling poor was a relative experience. The Indians did not feel that they were poor because they had nobody to compare themselves to.” While we have to make a living, and Lord knows inflation is out of sight these days, I think we’ve lost something here in America in our quest for wealth.
That, and your post really resonated with me today.

What a profound revelation, Joan. It’s true. If we had nothing to compare ourselves to, we wouldn’t know we had less than others. Amazing. I can remember, as a kid, I never knew we were poor. I never went to bed hungry, and I had a roof over my head. I didn’t realize it until much later. I agree with you. In America, the quest for wealth has tainted everyone in some way or another. That reading definitely resonates with me on all levels. My sister and I have been working a part-time job on top of our full-time teaching jobs to keep up with inflation and bills. This weekend, we are taking a 3-day cruise that Margaritaville at Sea offered for free to teachers, veterans, and police officers (I believe). As for the card, it’s a message I live by every day, and Archangel Raphael’s name makes up three of my Diasodz characters who embraces this way of life as well. I love it! Great post, Jan!

I know the scarcity mindset well, but with Easter coming, I intend to take some time to relax, enjoy some decadent foods (since we abstained throughout Lent), and bask in the company of loved ones.
