#MondayMotivation – Meditation – #TarotReading #DragonOracleCard

Happy Monday! I wish you a great start to a new week. Let’s plant some seeds!

This mindfulness meditation is short but powerful for centering.

The Tarot cards really spoke to me today. I hope something about the reading will also resonate with you.

I know these cards will look familiar to you. We’ve seen them before, but never all three together.

First of all, notice the numbers (5,6,7). Interesting.

The Seven of Cups represents choices and decisions. There are so many things to choose from, and you may find your ideas are not grounded in reality. Often, the Seven of Cups can be a sign of wishful thinking and projecting into the future about what you would like to create, rather than taking action here in the present to make it happen. The Seven of Cups may be a sign of shiny object syndrome, where you keep finding the ‘next big thing’ but fail to see any of those new opportunities through to the end. When you are constantly in the idea phase, you miss the chance to bring your designs into fruition. Now is a time to focus on the one thing that will move you closer to your goal; resist the temptation to get side-tracked with other ideas as they arise. If need be, note your ideas as they come up, but stay focused on the one thing you’re doing. This card is inviting you to move out of the ideas and options phase and choose. Remember your choices today form your tomorrow.

The Five of Pentacles typically represent loss or poverty. It may predict hard times, especially when it comes to your work, career, finances, and material possessions. In this time of need, the Five of Pentacles indicates that you feel isolated and alone. Just like the two people in the card, you feel as if you have been left in the cold. You may wonder, “Why is no one coming to help me!?” It may appear as if no one cares anymore. However, since the windows in the church are lit up, help is nearby, but you are too focused on your problems to notice. You may be waiting for someone to come and help you when really, you need to be proactive and ask for help. You need to swallow your pride or let go of your fear of rejection and reach out. People are here to support you. Find them and let them know you need them. The upside is that this is a Minor Arcana card with temporary effects (rather than a Major Arcana card which has a longer-term impact). This, too, shall pass.

The Six of Swords may indicate that you are in a state of transition, leaving behind the familiar and moving toward the unknown. This change may be your own doing or forced upon you, and you may feel sad to leave behind what is so familiar to you. However, you know this move is essential for your growth and personal development. The card invites you to let go of whatever is holding you back. You are headed toward a much better position in life, so long as you are willing to evolve and shed whatever you no longer need. Do not dwell on what gets left behind. Instead, use this as an opportunity to change your beliefs about yourself, moving away from whom you used to be and toward whom you want to be. Similarly, the Six of Swords asks you to reflect on any emotional or mental baggage you may carry as you move from one phase to the next. In the boat stand six upstanding swords – a sign you are still carrying a heavy weight from your past as you move forward, which might slow your personal growth. These ‘swords’ may be memories, relationships, habits, behaviors, thought patterns, and beliefs that are no longer serving you. Decide what you need to take with you and what you can leave behind. The one comfort that always stands out to me about this card is that you are not alone. The boatman is helping get you where you need to be, and it’s a much better place.

MY TAKEAWAY:

Be mindful of the choices you make. Choosing something that is not grounded in reality is setting yourself up for failure, the feeling of loss, and desperation. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. It is time to leave behind what no longer serves you and move on to something better and brighter. But you are never alone.

And this little Dragon is ready to help clear your way!

Deep Blue Dragon - Keeps you safe by clearing your pathway. Trust that you are protected. Walk on a path of light.

#MotivationMonday – #Meditation – #TarotReading – #DragonOracleCard

Happy Monday! The temperatures here in Texas have soared into the triple digits and I find myself fighting lethargy. My A/C unit never shuts off and I keep my thermostat at 78 degrees. So, I’m looking for positive inspiration and motivation today! Boy, do I need to unplug!

I found this meditation to be energizing and hopefully you will too!

Now, for the tarot reading for the week.

The Queen of Cups is nurturing, caring, compassionate and sensitive. When you see her in a Tarot reading, you are embodying her ‘nurturing mother’ energy. You support others by listening with your heart, being compassionate, and caring for them deeply. The Queen of Cups says you are highly intuitive, creative, and in flow with the surrounding energies. In your interactions with others, you can easily read other people to get a sense of how to communicate effectively, enabling you both to feel heard and understood. In your creative projects and endeavors, you ‘feel’ your way into them, trusting your heart and your inner guidance to lead you in the right direction. You know when something is off, and you pay attention to this, even if it doesn’t make rational sense. Lead with your heart, not your head.

The Six of Pentacles is all about giving and receiving—sharing. Even if you are not financially wealthy, you offer up your time, energy, love, and support to those who are in need, knowing it will be appreciated. Giving of your time or your wisdom is often just as spiritually fulfilling as giving away money or gifts, and the intangible gift of your presence is received just as well, if not better. You may be on the receiving end of other people’s generosity and are advised to accept these gifts with gratitude. Finally, the Six of Pentacles is a card representing financial harmony. The amounts flowing in and out are in balance, and you are thankful for what you have and happy to share with others in need.

When the Queen of Pentacles appears in a Tarot reading, you are embodying the ultimate working parent archetype. You care for your family and domestic responsibilities while also making a living for yourself and creating financial abundance. You can maintain a healthy balance between home and work by integrating the two and finding your place of ‘flow’ and alignment. You strive to create a warm and secure environment for your family and loved ones while giving your love and support freely.  It is important to you to live independently, with a stable income, and with enough time and space to also nurture your loved ones. You may be trying to strike a better balance between your home and work lives, giving it your all in both domains. At the same time, you find time for yourself and prioritize ‘me’ time in between all of your other commitments.

MY TAKEAWAY:

With two queens in this week’s reading, there is a lot of strong feminine energy. I have always directly related to the Queen of Cups, tending to live from my heart and not my head. But, as with everything, it needs a balance and the Queen of Pentacles provides that with the harmony of the Six of Pentacles in between the two queens, giving and receiving. Let your heart lead you, share with others and stay grounded in the physical world. One of the most difficult things we have to do is find time to nurture ourselves (or at least I do) so I find this timely advice from the Queen of Pentacles also.

This beautiful emerald dragon fits right into the entire theme for this week. Enjoy!

Hello, November! This year is flying past. The theme for this week’s post is all about using our full potential. My thanks to Author, Erika Kind for the quote for the week.

The meditation today truly inspired me and I hope it will have the same effect on you. Let’s unlock our highest potential!

The reading for the week comes from the Tarot Cards and when I was pulling them, an extra one popped out, so I am going with it.

The Page of Swords is an action card and it is sitting in the past position. It is full of enthusiasm and passion. Perhaps you started a new project full of anticipation and excitement. The challenge with this card is to keep up the momentum. The Page of Swords often emerges when you are exploring a new way of thinking – a new idea, a new perspective, new knowledge, or a new technique. I don’t know about you, but with all of the craziness around the world, a new perspective is often necessary for peace of mind.

Next, in the present position, The Two of Wands takes a spark of inspiration and turns it into a clear action plan. It is the exact opposite of the sword in that it is contemplation rather than action. You look to the future and take in all possibilities before taking a step. It is more about long-term goals. The Twos in Tarot often represent decisions of some sort. With this two, you may make a choice between sticking with what you know or taking a risk.

In the future position, we have the Five and Seven of Cups. The Five of Cups can often indicate the feeling of disappointment or failure. But at the same time, is telling us to look away from what we might consider to be a failure and instead focus on new possibilities or opportunities. We’ve had the Seven of Cups before, and you may remember that symbolizes endless choices and possibilities. There is so much to choose from, yet it comes with a warning of caution in your decision. Make wise choices. Often, the Seven of Cups can be a sign of wishful thinking and projecting into the future about what you would like to create, rather than taking action here in the present to make it happen. Now is a time to focus on the one thing that will move you closer to your goal; resist the temptation to get side-tracked with other ideas as they arise. If need be, note your ideas as they come up, but stay focused on the one thing you’re doing.

My Takeaway:

With fresh enthusiasm and passion for a project, we are asked to look at the long-term goals, or the bigger picture before taking any action. At the same time, we are cautioned not to focus on what we might perceive to be failures or disappointment but, instead, look at the opportunities presented to us and make wise choices and unlock our highest potential. Make it a great week!

Another gorgeous Dragon Card message for the week!

I feel such a beautiful energy today and I hope that somehow I can share it in this post with you.

The meditation today is short but very uplifting and power-filled!

A most interesting tarot reading for this week. Sometimes it seems like I see some of the same cards over and over, but I trust the process. I randomly pull them, so there is no manipulation on my part. The Universe brings the message we need to hear.

I feel that the Seven of Pentacles applies to all of us who write our stories, or any other creative endeavors. It shows you understand the value of putting in time and energy now for longer-term rewards and have a strong desire to invest in sustainable results. You are not looking for quick wins (but wouldn’t we all love a quick win?). You also want to make sure you are putting your attention on the right areas instead of wasting time and effort on tasks that will not deliver any value. Sometimes we need to step back from day-to-day operations and take a look at the bigger picture. If you have been working hard or putting extra effort into something challenging and important for the last few months, the endeavor or project is near its culmination. Rest assured, your hard work will pay off. You are likely to see financial or other tangible rewards for all of your hard work.

The Page of Pentacles brings a message of new beginnings, as does the Ace. When the Page of Pentacles appears in a Tarot reading, you are tapping into your ability to manifest a personal goal or dream, or the start of a new educational experience. You are excited about the possibilities and potential of what you put your mind to, knowing you can create whatever you want with focused intention and action. This Page does not specify the fulfillment of dreams as much as the initial motivation and energy to begin the process of turning those dreams into reality.

The Ace of Swords seems to show up often for us. It marks a wave of new energy from the intellectual realms. You may be on the verge of a significant breakthrough or a new way of thinking that allows you to view the world with clear eyes. Or, you may have a sudden realization or conscious understanding about an issue that has been troubling you and can finally see the path ahead of you. Meditate regularly to clear away the mental chatter and make the most of this intellectual potential.

My overall take on this reading is that while we may be nearing the end of one project, there are new ones on the horizon with strong energy and inspiration behind them. Your thoughts?

Welcome to the start of a new week!

Rumi Quote Created by Jan Sikes in Canva

As I talked about last week, I am going to choose meditations that help to activate our seven Chakras. Last week we focused on the Root Chakra. This week it’s the Sacral Chakra. It is located in the area between the belly button and the pelvic bone, and is the chakra related to our emotions, sexuality and creativity. Some simple ways to help strengthen this chakra is to wear the color orange, carry a Carnelian stone and say any of these simple affirmations: “I allow my creativity to flow through me. I embrace vibrant sexuality. My emotions are free flowing and balanced.” And now for our short meditation to help clear and activate this chakra.

When I drew the cards for our Tarot Reading this week, I literally gasped. I swear you cannot make this stuff up. I got chills from head to toe. A big thing to note from these cards is how powerful they are. Each of these cards is from the Major Arcana, which deals with our big life and karmic lessons.

See what I mean? When I drew The Lovers card after doing the Sacral Chakra Meditation, I was blown away. Folks, I believe in the power of the Universe and when things like this happen, it only serves to reinforce that belief. In its purest form, the Lovers card represents conscious connections and meaningful relationships. It is a card of open communication and raw honesty, but can also represent getting clear about your values and beliefs. At its heart, the Lovers is about choice. The choice about who you want to be in this lifetime, how you connect with others and on what level, and about what you will and won’t stand for. To make good choices, you need to be clear about your personal beliefs and values – and stay true to them. The Hermit card follows with the encouragement to take a break from everyday life, draw your energy and attention inward, and find the answers you seek, deep within your soul. The Hermit often appears when you are at a pivotal point in your life and considering a new direction. Through meditation, contemplation, and self-examination, you may begin to re-evaluate your personal goals and change your overall course. You will look at your life with a deeper, more spiritual understanding and a few of your priorities will change as a result. The Hermit also represents the desire to turn away from a consumerist or materialistic society to focus on your inner world. The Temperance card is all about balance – give and take, yin and yang, up and down. It encourages patience and moderation. This card calls on you to remain calm, even when life feels stressful or frantic. Maintain an even temperament and manage your emotions (again a direct connection with the Sacral Chakra). Be the peacekeeper. This Tarot card is about blending, mixing, and combining diverse elements in a way that creates something new and even more valuable than its separate parts.

So, an overall look at these cards gives us the inspiration to be open and honest in our communications (especially with ourselves), look inward and be introspective, and do all of this with balance, patience and inner calm.

Whew!

Make it a great week folks. We have a powerful opportunity!

Welcome to another start to a new work week. It is my hope that you find some inspiration to lift you as you begin. I loved these words of wisdom from Sue Vincent. They struck a chord with me.

The Eyes of others may see beyond the insecurities that keep us blind to ourselves. A quote from Sue Vincent. Meme created by Jan Sikes

Our meditation this week is all about the practice of gratitude. Enjoy!

And now for our message from the Tarot cards for the upcoming week.

Tarot Card reading by Jan Sikes for week of April 19, 2021.
Tarot Card Reading by Jan Sikes 4-19-21

The King of Swords is a powerfully energetic card, as are the three cards which follow him. The suit of Swords represents the intellect. Being the highest card in the suit, the King is a symbol of intellectual power and authority and has the courage and acumen to achieve all that he desires. He indicates the opportunity for clarity and an objective point of view. He can also represent a person of authority that you might call on for expert advice.

The Wands are representative of our spirituality, intuition and creativity. The Ace is always some new beginning, new idea, new inspiration or new project. Just look at the force with which the hand is protruding through the cloud to bring an enlightened vision or idea. The Eight of Wands is all about movement. There is no standing still! It is a dynamic high-energy card pushing you forward with the idea the Ace brings. You can expect to be very busy. 🙂 Determine what you want to manifest and then align all of your resources and energy to focus on that singular goal. Remove all distractions and devote yourself to the task with total concentration, determination and will. This experience can be highly productive, allowing you to accomplish a lot in a short time.

There you go! Make this week productive, positive and filled with clarity!

See you next week!

Monday #Motivation #Meditation #TarotReading

Welcome to another Monday, and another opportunity to begin your week on a positive vibration.

Continuing with Part 2 of the Self-Love Meditation series, today’s focus is on gratitude. Enjoy!

And now on to our Tarot Reading for the week.

The Six of Cups is one of my favorite feel-good cards. The cups are overflowing with flowers and sharing one with someone else is such a wonderful thing to do. It reflects innocence of childhood and joy. It can also represent revisiting someone from your childhood. I just see it is a benevolent card. The Nine of Pentacles is a gorgeous card and exudes abundance, self-sufficiency and financial independence. It can represent a reward for hard work. While the suit of Pentacles typically focuses on material wealth and gain, this card also suggests that you are in harmony with the environment around you. You appreciate the beauty and abundance found in nature, and you can harness this high-vibe energy to bring pleasure into your life. You may enjoy gardening or floristry, or you may just like to pass your time in the beauty of nature with picnics or walks in the park. The Strength card is pretty self-explanatory. It represents strength, determination, and power. But it speaks to an inner strength, not an outer. You are fueled by your inner strength, personal power, strong will and determination. You can control a situation without excessive, outward force. No one knows it’s you calling the shots. It looks to be a powerful week ahead, incorporating benevolence and sharing, having gratitude for your abundance of blessings in life and strength to do whatever needs doing.

I’d love to hear from you! Thoughts?

Those of you who follow Author Sue Vincent know she is facing death with an inoperable and incurable type of cancer. Her blog posts have been filled with so much wisdom. These words below made such an impact on me I had to share.

Today’s beautiful meditation is designed to help bring clarity to difficult situations and I found it to be effective. I hope you will too.

For this week’s Tarot reading, we have the Seven of Cups, Six of Wands and Ace of Swords. The Seven of cups is all about opportunities. There are all sorts of gifts in the seven cups, but as you can see, some are not gifts at all. So, you must be careful what you wish for and make your choices wisely. Sometimes the Seven of Cups can be about wishful thinking that is not grounded in reality. The Six of Wands follows with a representation of success, progress and possibly public recognition for work done well. It’s safe to say that if you make the wise choice in the first card, success is sure to follow. Aces always represent new beginnings of some sort. In the case of the Ace of Swords, it indicates a new inspiration or idea and encourages you to live your passion. I hope this reading sets the tone for an amazing week ahead for everyone. Careful what you choose, enjoy success and watch for new inspirations!!

Thank you for joining me!

Happy Monday, everyone. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready to start another week. Today, I am sharing a short meditation from Jason Stephenson to help start your day in a positive way. Enjoy!

This mini-Tarot reading for the first week of March week starts off with two cards from the Major Arcana. The Chariot is all about willpower, determination, and strength. The Chariot calls on you to assert yourself and be courageous. I know for some, that comes easily. For me, asserting myself does not come easy, so I draw upon the strength of this card to help. It can also indicate travel, but with the pandemic still in full swing, not so sure that applies. The Temperance card reminds us of the importance of finding balance, practicing moderation, having patience, and keeping purpose firmly set in your heart. We round the week out with the Nine of Cups which symbolizes contentment, gratitude, and satisfaction. I can’t think of a better tone to start and end this week with.

Thank you for stopping by and engaging with Monday Meditation, Motivation and Mini-Tarot reading! I’d love to hear from you!

Monday #Meditation #Motivation #ChakraBalancing #Tarot

Good Morning. The words on this banner are the last words the guide speaks in the meditation I am sharing today. It is so profoundly beautiful I had to make it stand out.

This short meditation guides you in balancing your Chakras (Energy Centers). It’s an energizing way to start your day and your week. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The mini Tarot reading for this week is absolutely amazing! It almost needs no words. The cards speak for themselves!

All positive, all good. You don’t have to be an expert in the Tarot to know that The World and The Wheel of Fortune cards are totally magic. The World card symbolizes completion, fulfillment, and accomplishment while the Wheel of Fortune offers you just that – a spin at the wheel, and signifies good luck. And finally, the Four of Wands is a celebration. So, what a week we are going to have!! Of course, there is lots more on each of these cards, but I promise to keep this short and sweet. Here’s to you from my heart to yours! Go out and have the best week ever!
