The trail ride ends today. I sincerely appreciate everyone who visited along the way, left comments, and shared. Our blogging community is the best!

And I can’t think of a better place to end the tour than with Erika Kind. Her name says it all. She is one of the kindest souls I’ve encountered in the blogosphere. She lives in the Swiss Alps, and if it tells you anything about her, the title of her website is “Share The Light.” We have connected on a soul level. She shares uplifting posts that always make my day a little brighter. If you’re not subscribed to her blog, I highly recommend you do that when you visit. Her Daily Kind quotes are wonderful.

And she has a book that I have not yet read, but it’s on my TBR list.

Today, we get to visit two places.

Marlena Smith Burris is a long-time friend and one of the nicest women you could ever want to meet. She never has an unkind word to say about anyone. She is positive all the way. And she is an author. Her most recent release is a novella, The Power of Love.

Blurb: She only wants a fresh start and a life away from the big city.

Scarlet finds herself in the small town of Belmont, Montana. It’s a quiet town with a lot of charm. One she didn’t expect to fall in love with, but it offers something magical.

Will her past catch up to her? Will she be forced back into the life she hates? Will she risk everything for a chance at love?

The next stop today is at fellow Wild Rose Press Author, Darlene Fredette‘s blog site. I recently featured Darlene’s newest release, Derailed Hearts, here on my blog, and in case you missed it, you can find it HERE.

Isn’t that a fabulous book cover? It makes me want to grab a cup of hot chocolate and snuggle up with the book.

I’d be honored if you’d pick up these books today, then head on over to the blog posts!

Saddled Hearts #BlogTour #Giveaway #ScavengerHunt @wildrosepress

Only three more days of this tour. It has been amazing visiting with so many folks along the way and the wonderful lady who is hosting me today is someone I greatly admire. Annette Rochelle Aben. She is a communicator, wordSmith, artist, guide, mentor, muse, and one heck of a poet. I love her daily Angel Messages. They are always uplifting.

And for the entire month of November, she is featuring an “Attitude of Gratitude” post daily. What are you grateful for?

One of her most recent books, Tell Me A Story in 99 Words, is such a compelling read!

Here’s my Review:

I’ve been a fan of Annette Rochelle Aben’s poetry for quite a few years, and when I saw she had published a book of flash fiction, I knew I was in for a treat. And a treat it is! Anyone who is a writer knows what a challenge it is to write a story in 99 words. The writing has to be concise and tight, and that is exactly what Ms. Aben managed to do. I found stories with humor, satire, wisdom, the complexity of the human mind, and family. A few stood out to me personally as favorites. “Advancement” is so insightful about a strong woman, as is “Eyes Forward.” “Bedfellows” is such a realistic story about a girl with too many brothers and an abusive father. “Cash For Cars” moved me. “Drops In The Bucket” relates the daily grind cycle in which rewards are small. I’d venture to say there is a story for everyone in this collection. It’s a quick, easy read and is so well-written. I highly recommend this book.

So grab your copy and meet me at Annette’s place!

It’s Monday and the start of a new week of touring. I have to offer up a huge Thank You to everyone who has followed along. I hope you’ve had fun!

Today we are visiting at Linnea Tanner‘s place. I met Linnea many years ago through a book club and loved the first book in her multi-award-winning Apollo’s Raven series and loved it. She has the unique ability to transport the reader back to Medieval times and put you in the middle of all the action. And, she has a new book just added to the series, Skull’s Vengance.

A Celtic warrior queen must do the impossible—defeat her sorcerer half-brother and claim the throne. But to do so, she must learn how to strike vengeance from her father’s skull.

So, once you’ve grabbed your copy, saddle up your pony and ride on over to Linnea’s! See you there!

Today, we are going to give our ponies a little break and take a short jaunt over into east Texas for a visit with another long-time friend and fabulous author, Joan hall!

I recently had the distinct pleasure of meeting Joan in person. How rare is that in our huge online community? I loved it. Can you tell Joan is a die-hard Beatles fan?

But I digress. I want to mention Joan’s Monday blog posts which are always mysterious and compelling AND her latest books! The first thing I loved about the Legends of Madeira series is the setting in Northern New Mexico, one of my favorite places to visit. The second and most compelling thing about these books is the mystery that unravels in dual time periods. I highly suggest you start with the first book, House of Sorrow. Then follow that up with Cold Dark Night.

I can promise you won’t be disappointed. Okay, let’s roll! See you at Joan’s place!

Today we are going to take our ponies to northern California for a visit with one of my longtime friends and fellow colleague at Story Empire, D.L. Finn.

I can’t remember how long I’ve known her, but it’s been more than a few years. We share a lot of things in common—a love for poetry, all things metaphysical, angels who watch over us, grandchildren, reading, and Harleys. 🙂 It’s been many years since I got to experience the freedom of riding on the back of a Harley, so I live that vicariously through D.L.

She is not only a friend but a talented writer. Her latest paranormal book was entertaining and thought-provoking. I found myself thinking, “What if?” If you haven’t read A Voice In The Silence, I highly recommend it!

Got your copy? Okay, let’s ride. See you at Denise’s place!

Time to ride. I hope everyone had their coffee this morning and are in the saddle!

We’re off to visit Dan Antion!

Dan is an active blogger who published his first two books this year. I am proud of him. I read the first one, Knuckleheads, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have the second book in his Dreamer’s Alliance series and looking forward to reading it. If you aren’t following Dan’s blog, today’s a great day to do that. He has a devoted following and posts highly entertaining blogs.

So pick up Knuckleheads, then head on over to Dan’s place for a tour stop!

Saddled up your ponies. It’s time to ride again. Hope you’re not getting saddle sores yet. 🙂

Today, we head back east to visit with Teri Polen. I am super thrilled that she offered to host this stop on the tour. Teri is an author of young adult, sci-fi, horror, and fantasy fiction stories. She is also an avid book reviewer and blogger. If you missed out on her Bad Moon Rising series in the month of October, you missed a treat! They were all so much fun, and the general consensus is that no one wants to take a haunted doll home with them. 🙂

I’ve had the pleasure of reading a couple of Teri’s books and can highly recommend them! Subject A36 was gripping and the first book in her Colony Series. I have the second waiting for me on my Kindle.

Here’s my review of this book:

This YA Dystopian book gripped me from the beginning to the end. As a young boy, Asher Solomon has to run with his two sisters to escape being taken by The Colony soldiers. At first, he is sure it’s only a drill. After all, their father has insisted they be prepared for the one unavoidable time it would be real. And that time arrives at the start of the story. But when Asher’s sister is injured while escaping, he’s forced to leave them in a cave, promising to return for them.
The world-building in this story is phenomenal. The author did a fabulous job of creating believable characters in nail-biting situations of survival. Oh, and they are all teenagers.
The Colony has figured out a way to harvest highly sought-after, desirable genes from children in order to create a perfect society of beautiful people free of all disease. Of course, that kind of perfection comes at a price. The price of human life.
Children, referred to as outliers, are ripped from their families and taken to harvesting centers.
Asher joins a group of teenagers, Insurgents, whose mission is to rescue these children.
While Asher and his group may be young, they are wise and capable way beyond their years. There are a lot of characters in this story, but besides Asher, I loved Noah, Brynn, and Paige. They are the backbone and strength of the Insurgents.
But there are secrets. And when they are revealed, change everything Asher ever believed about his parents and his life, and have the potential to destroy everyone he loves.
This story concludes with somewhat of a happy ending mixed with a cliffhanger. I could see this entire story unfold as a movie and would be thrilled for the author if it were to be developed as a major film. If you are a fan of gripping dystopian stories where survival is tenuous, you will love this book.

So grab your copy, then head on over to Teri’s!

It’s almost the halfway mark through this blog tour and I have had a blast visiting and responding to comments!

For day 10 of this tour, we visit with an author who was a guest on my site yesterday. 🙂 We didn’t plan it. It just turned out that way. Jacqui Murray wears many hats. She is an educator, a techie geek, a coach, and an author. Her latest series of books is set in the time before time, the days of prehistoric man.

While I have not yet read these books, they are waiting, rather impatiently, on my Kindle and I know I’m in for a treat! Here’s how Ms. Murray describes this series:

The trilogy, Dawn of Humanityis set 1.8 million years ago and features Lucy, a Homo habilis. She and her kind were the start of man’s genus, Homo. They were the first creatures to create tools, routinely walk upright, and solve problems they’d never encountered. They were the first creatures to create tools, routinely walk upright, and solve problems they’d never encountered. But Lucy had thin skin, no claws, and tiny teeth–pretty defenseless in a world of sabertooth cats and thick-hided mammoth. There was no reason to believe she’d survive much less thrive.

Intrigued yet? Grab a book from this series, then head on over to Jacqui’s place for another Saddled Hearts tour stop!
